I was born in Mozambique and immigrated to South Africa in 1975. I brought with me my lovely Siamese (unregistered) girl whom I showed at the Natal Cat Club in the Pet Class back in 1977. As far back as I can remember, I have shared my life with cats.
Home is in Durban, South Africa. I am married to Victor and have one daughter Natasha, age 22. Some will probably recall how close she came to being born at the Natal Cat Club show on 29 May 1993.
The Burmese Aqualeo’s Suki-Su, a beautiful brown girl, was the first cat I showed. This was in 1987 at a Natal Cat Club Show in Pietermarizburg. I registered my cattery ACUSHLA in 1987, bred my first litter the same year and was an active breeder until 1999.
I have worked on the awards table at many shows and stewarded for a number of years. I commenced my judge’s training course in Persians/Exotics in 2000. In 2002 I qualified and progressed to do the Siamese/Oriental course qualifying in 2007.
I assisted in forming the Shorthair Cat Fancy in 1988 and in forming the Natal Burmese Cat Society a few years later in 1999.
I have judged at PCS, AICA and CASA shows for a few years.
I am a member of the East Coast KwaZulu Natal Panel of Cat Judges which is affiliated to the Southern Africa Cat Council (SACC).

I live in The Kingdom of The Zulu, in Durban South Africa, I live 30 minutes out of Durban in the hilly Kloof area.
I became the proud owner of my Persian cat in 1987 from a breeder in Johannesburg. Show my Persian at a show in 1988. As I was putting my baby in a cage at the show and looking at the other cats, I knew that she was not a good example of the breed.
I decided there and then that if I want a good example, the best will be to breed with my good example to a good example to the right blood lines.
First litter was born in 1989 which produced two Supremes out of the litter.
I have bred out of my lines numerous Supremes. Other breeding was British and had two litters only, and had three Supremes out the two litters.
Currently breeding British.
I am a great believer that judges can learn from breeders, if you want to grow and understand what breeders want to achieve without being negative.

I am the Show Manager for the prestigious "World Of Dogs And Cats" from the first championship show to be held in May or November every year.

I have been at 2 Word Cat Congress meetings.
I started my first course in 1992 and received my All Breed Judge Status in April 2001.
I found my own breed course Persian difficult as I have to forget my personal differences.
The most difficult course was the Foreign Group as there where 24 different breeds to learn.
