The year is again racing to its end and soon we will eagerly be waiting to enter 2011. And what a year it has been for South Africa with the FIFA World Cup we recently hosted successfully. And up to now we also had a similarly exciting year in SACC. We just crowned our Cat of the Year for 2010 and huge congratulations to our winner, SP PR Cracker Cotton Eye Joe, a white orange eyed Persian and owner Rene van Wyk and breeders Amanda Visser and Pat Williams. Also to the other qualifiers, thank you for honouring us with your presence. My sincere appreciation also to WPCC and Lance Wiseman and his team for hosting such an enjoyable and memorable event. Congratulations to Johan Groenewald and Ian Taylor of Taldi Cattery who was named the SACC Breeders of the Year for 2010 once again.

The year is in full swing and when you read this, the first few SACC shows will be something of the past. Through the grapevine I hear that there are a lot of promising COTY candidates that will hit the show bench this year and thismakes the art of showing so much more exciting. I also heard that there will be a lot of new faces at the shows and a lot of exhibitors that have not shown for some time will again be showing this year. To all of you, welcome in the SACC show ring.
This year has come and gone andy ou are all hopefully all planning a quiet and peaceful time over the holiday period.
My first year as the President of SACC is over and for that I have only one word: CHALLENGING. I can only thank the SACC management and delegates for the support during the year.
The organized SA cat fancy originated in 1945 with the formation of the Governing Council of the Associated Cat Clubs. In October 1996 the council was restructured into its current form and renamed to the Southern Africa Cat Council (SACC). SACC is an affiliation of 9 cat clubs, 14 cat breed groups and 4 cat judges panels.
